This course is designed for teachers interested in using Curriculum Pathways to help students solve problems and learn through inquiry; activate multiple learning channels through interactivity; engage in multi-step learning processes to assess and shape individual progress; receive informative and timely feedback to enhance learning; and transfer knowledge and skills to new situations.
Course Description
This asynchronous, online course prepares teachers to integrate resources from Curriculum Pathways into instruction. Assignments include working through resources as students, evaluating instruction, implementing lessons in the classroom, participating in cooperative learning activities and online discussions, and creating portfolio artifacts (capstone project).
Requirements
Participants must be teachers (grades 8-12) in the core disciplines (English, social studies, science, mathematics, and Spanish) at schools subscribing to Curriculum Pathways. Participants should be comfortable using e-mail and working with a word-processing program (e.g., Microsoft Word). School teams are strongly encouraged to enroll. Prior participation at a face-to-face session conducted by a SAS inSchool trainer is not a prerequisite.
