SAS inSchool® Curriculum Pathways® 2008 wins Technology & Learning Award of Excellence
Web-based educational product honored for sustained achievement

CARY, NC (Oct. 9, 2007) – SAS inSchool's Curriculum Pathways 2008 was recognized with an Award of Excellence from Technology & Learning magazine, the nation's leading K-12 educational technology publication. The Web-based educational product was named a Legacy Winner, a category that honors past award winners that have evolved with changing technology to offer the highest quality experiences for educators and students.

"We continue to add valuable, new features to Curriculum Pathways each year to make it as useful and relevant to teachers and students as possible," said Kathy Lee, General Manager, SAS Education Practice. "We are thrilled that Technology & Learning would honor that sustained commitment to excellence."

For 25 years, the magazine has recognized innovative applications that break new ground in some important way and also best-of-breed examples that demonstrate clear superiority over similar products in the market. This year's winners were chosen by more than 30 educator-judges who evaluated resources addressing management, safety, communication, differentiated learning and other key areas in education.

"This year's winning products reflect an impressive effort by publishers to respond to the real needs of schools," said Susan McLester, Editor in Chief of Technology & Learning. "The offerings being honored are practical, innovative and central to a variety of district and site operations."

Used by thousands of customers in more than 30 states, Curriculum Pathways is an online resource for students and teachers in high schools, community colleges and virtual schools, and provides content in all the core disciplines. Aligned with state and national academic standards as well as other best practices for online content delivery, it has more than 170 InterActivities and 855 ready-to-use lessons enable technology-rich instruction and engage higher-order thinking skills.

The 2008 edition of Curriculum Pathways offers several significant enhancements such as a teacher blog, and new InterActivities, including the Writing Reviser. This tool does more than point out mistakes; it helps students recognize opportunities to make their writing more compelling. Earlier this year, Writing Reviser was honored by Sun Microsystems with a Duke's Choice Award which is given to the best and most innovative projects using the Java platform.

The 2007 Awards of Excellence winners will be featured in the December 2007 issue of Technology & Learning magazine.
