SAS inSchool Presents Online Resources for Differentiated Instruction at ASCD New Orleans, LA (March 22, 2004)-At the annual conference for the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD), attendees experienced the power of the online curriculum resources from SAS inSchool. Educators embraced SAS inSchool's approach and the wide array of digital content that supports differentiation strategies in English, social studies, mathematics, science, and Spanish in grades 8-14. With the release of Curriculum Pathways® 2005 in June, 47 new InterActivities will be launched, including introductory algebra, earth science, parts of speech, contemporary world history, and Spanish. In addition to the award-winning content currently available, students will now have access to more than 100 InterActivities in 208 topics. Due to the philanthropic nature of the parent company, SAS, all resources will be available for $5 per student. ASCD attendees welcomed the affordable pricing effective in June, especially since many districts are suffering budget cuts this year. Details about current offerings and pricing are available at http://www.SASinSchool.com. Because of the carefully crafted design of Curriculum Pathways, students can begin the InterActivities at the most appropriate level, progress at their own pace, and work with concepts until they master them. Teachers no longer need to search for new activities when students need more practice because Curriculum Pathways offers hundreds of online resources mapped to state and national standards. If students miss class, fall behind, or need additional practice, they simply log-in to the Student Gateway. Since the minimum requirement is only a 56K modem connection, students may learn at school, at home, in libraries, or anywhere they have an Internet connection. "It is gratifying when teachers thank us for the critical support we are providing," says John Boling, Director of SAS inSchool. "Educators across the country are using SAS inSchool® resources to meet the needs of students with varied learning styles and ability levels so that each child has a better chance of making adequate yearly progress. We offer a variety of ways to teach key topics found in state and national standards, and students enjoy working with our engaging content. Technology should be viewed as an investment. Schools do not need a technology plan. Instead they need an academic and instructional plan that technology can enable." About SAS inSchool |
