EdGate Partners with SAS inSchool® to Provide Curriculum-Based Software to GIG HARBOR, Wash. (October 1, 2004) -- Teachers and their students across Wyoming will have access to SAS inSchool's award-winning, Web-based educational curriculum through the 2006-07 school year, thanks to a grant made by EdGate. "Improving student performance is the cornerstone objective of all of EdGate's solutions," said Mark A. Mitrovich, Ph.D., EdGate Co-founder and CEO. "SAS inSchool's curriculum-based software will provide students and teachers across the state with a truly innovative educational resource." EdGate is a leading provider of Internet-based learning content including lesson plans, assessments and a vast amount of education specific resources that are tied to prioritized state standards designed to improve student performance and teacher efficiency. Beginning in the 2001-2002 academic year, the state of Wyoming implemented a statewide program utilizing EdGate in an effort to improve the educational experience and performance of students and teachers alike. The program provides broad access to the myriad of EdGate content-based tools, which are tied to state standards, as well as professional development supplied by EdGate's trained educators. SAS inSchool's course offerings are now a part of these teaching resources statewide. SAS inSchool creates Web-based teaching and learning curricula focusing on the core subjects taught in grades eight through 14, including English, Spanish, social studies, science and mathematics. Also, the material is linked to state and national standards, ensuring that students receive instruction that is customized for their location. The award-winning software offers a Web-based planning environment for teachers; for students, it promotes problem-solving and critical-thinking skills. SAS inSchool's standards-based resources are receiving growing acceptance across the country by middle schools, high schools, virtual schools, as well as community colleges and universities. "We are excited to provide a valuable tool to aid Wyoming in their pursuit of academic excellence," said John Boling, Director of SAS inSchool. "We look forward to working hand-in-hand with EdGate in support of students and teachers across the state. Schools do not need a technology plan. Instead they need an academic plan technology can enable." About EdGate About SAS inSchool About SAS |
